My name is Kyle and I am a passionate, reliable and dedicated dog trainer and handler. I have a big passion for dogs, their care and well-being, and helping them thrive.
I have over 10 years of real-life professional dog handling and training experience, working as a conservation ranger in a K9 unit. I have trained working dogs for conservation and worked alongside them in the protection of wildlife, including detection, tracking and apprehension.
I have DH-5 dog handler accreditation.
I established 4 Paws K9 Services to offer my expertise in a diverse range of training areas, which are tailored on an individual basis according to needs and expected outcomes.
I use positive reinforcement in training and aim to make training enjoyable and rewarding for both the dog and their owner. Rewarding good behavior and training achievements is done with praise, pats and showing love to the dogs, along with healthy treat-based rewards and toys.
I conduct training sessions in people’s homes where it is useful to see the dog’s behavior in their usual environment. I also conduct training sessions at a local dog park, which can be done one-on-one or with other dogs for socialization. Training is also held at my training base in Wendywood, Sandton, which will soon include daycare with other dogs. This will assist with socialization and create an enjoyable environment for dogs to play and learn from each another.
